Andrew Robertshaw
Having completed his post graduate studies at the College of Ripon and York St John, Andy taught in Buckinghamshire for seven years before joining the staff of the National Army Museum in 1984. He became Head of the Museum's Education Department in 1989. Since 2007 he has been running the Logistic Corps Museum at Deep Cut.
His special interest is the Great War and his grandfather, John Andrew Robertshaw, served on the Western Front as a private between 1916 and 1918. For the past ten years Andy has been coordinating the No Man's Land group conducting archaeological projects on the Western Front.
An Honorary lecturer at University College he lectures on battle conditions, specifically medical treatment and wounds in twentieth century warfare. He is a consultant to the CWGC, the All Party War Graves and Battlefield Heritage Group and Belgian AWA.
Andrew is an experienced battlefield tour guide and has taken numerous
parties to the D-Day beaches, Western Front and numerous British sites.
He previously regularly appeared in the battlefield archaeology series 'Two
Men in a Trench' and in the BBC series 'Ancestors'. He will be featuring the
Great War battlefield archaeology series Finding The Fallen to be broadcast
in November 2006.
